One

Exactly a week ago, our littlest man turned ONE!!
I can not believe how fast the year went, time just slipped away and before we knew it , he was trying to talk and walk!! Remember him like this?

This precious little boy, our little surprise package, has completed our family so perfectly and brought each and every one of us , so much joy!!
He is loved beyond belief. Obsessed and fussed over by his brother and sisters and loves to cuddle and kiss everyone.
He is now walking (started about 2 weeks ago) , tries to piece puzzles together, likes to try and use a fork with dinner and has started to climb on EVERYTHING!!
He really is progressing well beyond his age, but that is what you get when you have 3 older siblings to learn from.

Anyway, here is a few (ok, quite a few) snapshots of our beautiful morning, on Angus' first birthday.

Always a few helpers around for when he needs it!

Look what I got!!

Presents from us! Not too many but just enough!

A new Scooter/bike from Grandma and Poppy!! So cute!

And the family tradition of Green Icecream Frog cake for his birthday night!

The day was filled with fun and laughter (and Trick or Treating) and we could not have asked for more.
Love you Angus Frankie xo

My Mum's Day

It was my dear Mums birthday a few days ago.
Its always such an important day for me, and obviously for her too, but I always want her to have the best day she can!!
This year was a little different, as my poor Dad has really hurt his finger at work. Shattered the bone in the tip, lost his nail and has quite a severe cut (one that probably should have been stitched). Given he has that, and also an ear, nose and throat infection, he is like a bear with a sore thumb ( or middle finger haha), so things were pretty quiet.

We celebrated as a family, at the park , for a yummy lunch in the glorious sunshine. The kids had a ball, it was relaxing for everyone and I really hope that it was everything Mum had hoped for!!

As I was writing in her birthday card, I couldn't help but get a bit emotional.
I always try and use this occasion to tell her just how much she means to me and my family, and how special a person she really is!!
Its true, my Mum is my best friend, well second only to my husband, and she really is such a dedictated, loving mother.

She is honest, but tactful.
Firm but nice.
Affectionate and cuddly
Selfless and generous
And everything and more that I hope to be.

I really have had the best teacher for being a good Mum, and if I am only a fraction as good as she is to us, I will be happy and so will our children.

My Mum returned to work when I was just 9 months old. Full time, and not by choice.
It  was a sign of the times, and the extremely high interest rates!! ( my darling Dad also working 4 jobs at once!)
And they did it all for us. So that my sister and I could have the things we had wanted.
So we could do the things that other kids were.
So I could do those bootscootin' classes in the Undercover area after school.
So I could do Brownies and Guides, play netball and basketball, work at Target after school and weekends.
So I could play State and Country Week basketball, and have new sneakers to play with.
Mum would always come along as the Parent Superviser, and I loved it!!
She took 8 weeks off work , used up her long service leave, to come into my class , everyday in year 2.
Why? Because, I , Liz the Year one Dux of the Class, refused to go to school!! Absolutely refused. Tantrum city it was. ( I had a very frightening teacher and she was picking on people in the class and I didn't like it, justified behaviour I say , haha)
All for me.

In high school, you know the house that everyone wants to stay at?
The Mum that everyone loves?
That was my Mum. That was my house.
I was always having people stay over.
Always having people get ready for a night out at our house. Predrinks and the like.
And I remember my best friend always fibbing to Mum that she had eaten. Because she hadn't of course, and we so responsibly thought 'Eating was Cheating'.
"Yes Mrs D, I had a pie at home"
Because she knew that if she hadn't of said that, we would have had to sit down to a 3 course meal before venturing to that gathering or party.

She has always supported, with due caution, all my crazy ideas!!
To start a business and open my own salon at the age of 20!!
To keep said business when I had my first child. Then my second and third.
To take our first child to Europe for 3 weeks.
To buy our first house and then upgrade to something new.

The first place Noel and I ever lived was in my parents granny flat. We were there for years. And loved every minute.
It was small and cosy and we made it our happy home.
All thanks to my parents.

With my Mum and sister on Mothers Day , 2012

All I can hope is that am a good a mother as her. That my kids feel the same about me as I do about my Mum.
That they love me as much, they appreciate me as much, and they are as grateful as I am.

So this post is dedicated to my dearest Mother.
Where would we be without you?
Happy Birthday Mum xo

I urge you all to tell your loved ones , just the way you feel about them. Life is too short and too precious not to!

Easter Weekend

I can't believe Easter has come and gone, and all within the blink of an eye! It well and truely sinks in, when I pack away all the Decorations and goodies around our home, but I must admit, I am loving the clutter free look around the house now!

We spent an amazing few days with my family, my parents and sister and family, in the beautiful town of Shark Bay, about 4 hrs North of Geraldton, where we live. The weather was really turned on for the weekend and ALOT of fun was had by all!!
The kids have spent the last few days recouping and recovering, playing quietly and just hanging at home, because all they did for 3 days solid was play with their cousins!

We fished, swam, drank, ate, chatted, laughed, did a bit of siteseeing and just enjoyed each others company! This years trip was alot more relaxing than that of last years, a combination of staying in a chalet, not a tent (yippppee) having just one baby , not two (but 2 toddlers instead!) and the awesome weather!  We all had the best time and are well and truely looking forward to next year !

And now for the photos, sorry its an overload, there were too many to choose a favourite!

Max and Lacey are now pros on their "kootas" , and look so cute on them too!

Angus was an absolute delight, he is a dream baby and so laid back and casual. Not the best sleeper in the world, but his beautiful temperament and personality , well and truely make up for it!

Do you think he was excited to get an Easter egg/bunny? I must deprive my kids of chocolate! haha

The picturesque Monkey Mia , with the dolphins. They are just gorgeous aren't they?!

Watching the 'dol-pins' , so cute. And they learnt a new word, and used it repeatedly for the next 30 mins!

Wild Emus wander through the Monkey Mia resort!

Cheekiness!

Our kids sure love their Grandma!!

Fun fun fun!
We got home, did 10 loads of washing ( I am being serious!!) and are in chill out mode! All in prep for DH to go away for work next week, I may be requiring a drink or 3! haha
And , we decided now was a good a time as any to Toilet train Max and Lacey! So far, so good, but I will keep you posted and have been asked to do a post on our Toilet training experiences , so that is coming!

There is always one!

The day we went for the annual Santa photo a few weeks back, also happened to be the day that we took the cots out of Max and Lacey's room and hadn't yet put their beds together.
What better opportunity for a quick photoshoot of my 4 cherubs , in a white room with pretty good natural light?
Hmmm perhaps the task is a little harder than it sounds, right?

There always has to be one , right?!
Max, the little boy with a big personality and lots of character..... and emotion.
Bless his cotton socks!

Bragging

WARNING: This post has ALOT of photos from a doting Mum, she's got it bad!

I have survived the first week with Noel back at work, with the 4 kiddos. One hairy day in the mix, which wasn't too bad in the scheme of things.
Throw 3 Dance concert rehearsals (for Stella) a town day and a hungry baby going through a growth spurt (who am I kidding, Angus likes to feed alot ALL the time ) and the week was busy but good.
Adjusting to having a newborn around has been relatively easy, Angus is a beautiful, calm and content little boy, and has slotted into our family oh so well. He sleeps through all the screaming, bickering and laughing so thats a good thing! At times I am surprised his hearing isn't impaired!
However its the long feeds in the early days, with active and hungry children that make some times through the day a little busy!
Then there is the "getting ready to go out " thing. I had a system before Angus came along, and it was chaos enough, but now I have a 4th to feed , dress and pack for, it really IS busy!
BUT wouldn't have it any other way!
Our little surprise package has completed our family perfectly, filled my heart right to the brim with joy and has his whole family wrapped around his little fingers!
You love them instantly and somehow , the heart and life you thought could not get any fuller or bigger, makes way for one  more little miracle. Just when you think "I wonder if I have enough love to go around" you mind makes more than enough room, and there was never any doubt about it!

And just because I love him to death, and he poses without running off, I have been a bit snap happy. But how could I not? Devine, yes!

Angus Frankie, 3 weeks old

The big Dance concert is tomorrow, I am that excited its not funny and I am not even dancing!
I can't wait to share pics, and I will be back over the weekend with some "Normal" posts, or just ones that aren't full of my bragging!
Happy Weekend Eve!

Take 2- Show Day

Seeing as though the real Fathers Day was a non event for us, we decided to head a bit out of town the following weekend for a Show.
The weather was warm and sunny and we were finally in the mood for some fun and family time!

The kids had a ball, Stella enjoyed all the activities, things to look at and Sideshow Alley and Max and Lacey (who stayed in their pram most of the time and were excellent) had fun looking around and taking it all in!

My parents went out to the show aswell, and it was nice to be able to spend some time with them and the show experience. I personally haven't been to a show day for many, many years, as I have always worked weekends, oh how nice is it to not anymore!!

Max and Lacey checking out the "eep"

Wow!

Stella and her beloved Grandma in the Petting Zoo, hmmm she is not much of an animal lover, rather scared actually but we were surprised she went in at all!!

Playing clowns

Having sword fights with balloons

Stella on a Car Merry-Go-Round

Woohoo

Checking out the cows.

Getting her Face Painted!! This lady is so talented and Stella had a beautiful Butterfly!

Max's turn!! He did so well and sat so still, Lacey however, was not impressed and didn't like it!

And at the end of the day, just before bath time, a quick pic of the face painting, a fish!!

The day was beautiful for everyone, and quite tiring, but we were so grateful to be able to celebrate Fathers Day properly!!
