Insta happenings

I am a great lover of the App Instagram! A wonderful network of photo sharing, commenting and forming 'relationships' with people through the power of images and comment love.
I have recently started a blog Instragram account, where I will be sharing bit and pieces from around my home and life. I often load piccies on to Instagram and then forget to do so on Facebook etc, so if you would like to follow more of the Bizzy Dayz journey, you can find me HERE, or the username is , wait for it ... bizzydayz

Meanwhile, here is a few Instagram snaps of our life lately ;

Capturing a personality ...

Sometimes when you capture and image of a person, you can look at it and almost see their whole personality laid before your eyes. When I saw these images on my computer screen, I could almost hear the little cackle that our dear little Lacey makes. I could see her little personality shining through the screen. These images are the perfect captures of the essence of Lacey.

She is determined,
Stubborn,
Strong willed,
Defiant,
Cheeky
And often pretty naughty

But she is also super affectionate,
very loving,
gives THE BEST cuddles out of all the kids.
She is smart
she is loyal
And is so caring when it comes to her siblings

This girl is going to run the country some day! Or at least do a darn good job at ruling the roost at her own home, with her own husband and family.

It is always hard to get a good photo of Lacey as she just won't stand and pose for you, so these are already cherished.
This is our Lacey ...

Wonderful Weather

We have been so blessed with such glorious weather lately!
It doesn't feel like it at the moment, as it blows a gale outside and rains off and on, but when the sun is shining lately, its like the bees and birds are singing!

My parents are building on a rural block at the moment and the kids have a ball there!
I was lucky enough to capture some beautiful images of our little darlings. In all their investigating happiness.

(Photo overload coming now!!)

I don't know about the birds and the bees, but these make my heart sing!
How lucky are we?
Even on bad days ( and I seem to be having a few with our terrible two lately, they still make me smile on the inside and out. (more so when they are sleeping though! haha)

To capture or live it?

I have been given a nickname around our home, affectionately by my dear husband ,of "Pappa". Paparazzi of course! Anytime I get out my lovely camera , anytime, anywhere , every.single.day, he cringes!! That's when the nickname starts flowing!
You see, I like to take photos. Actually, I really like to take photos. I am no professional photographer, but I like to capture moments in time, and make them last forever. I like these moments to be all around me, everyday and for my children to be surrounded by them. On photo walls, in frames, in albums, in scrapbooks. Anywhere, and everywhere..
Every night when we sit down to relax, surf the net, watch TV, he looks through the new photos that have popped up on his photo stream since hitting our WIFI connection (with the help of iCloud) to see what has happened throughout the day. To see the photos I have taken and the little people I have taken them of. Without fail, everyday, there is at least 2. Two photos, seven days a week, 52 weeks in a year. And that's just iPhone photos, then there are the ones from my DSLR and perhaps just a few (yeah right !) that have been edited and loaded onto Instagram.

Are you hearing me? Are you sitting at home nodding your head? Does this sound like you or do you sound ALOT worse?! LOL

I know its been talked about before, and I can't remember where, so if you have blogged about this, please share the link or let me know and I will link up, but with our run of birthdays last month, I got to thinking. I was charging the camera battery and making sure the video camera one was set as well, was I doing the right thing?

iPhone photo of a block building session

Do I capture these moments in stills and video, so the kids have them forever, so they can look back and reflect, or do I enjoy the moment and experience it for myself?
Through my eyes, not through a lens?
For the kids to see my happy , smiling face, and not that of a big black camera, saying "Look at Mum"
For their memories of their birthdays to be of millions of photos being taken and have those photos in albums to share with their own children, or of their mother, totally encased in happiness because it was her dear child's birthday?
Do I run the risk of missing that special moment, connection, sweet, pure joy, because I am fiddling with a camera, because I am trying to snap it?

Our poor sick big girl, she had an ear infection

Either way , is bittersweet.
So..... what did I/we do? We videoed for a few minutes, just the initial wake up and the reaction to the present pile. I snapped on automatic settings, and every few minutes, putting the camera down to open presents, build toys and interact.

Darling Max, they were pretending to play hospitals and he was the patient, but they he stayed there and turned into a sook!

I can not bear to put the camera away for good. But I have definitely cut down. But I love the fact that the kids will each have albums to take with them when they leave home. To share with their own families one day, to remember little things. The way I folded clothes. The meals I made. The fashions of our time.
Not just one album, like so many of us have , of our own childhood and baby stages, but many. To have pieces of art, cards, receipts, tickets. You name it. All in albums.

Seriously the funniest thing ever!! A teeny, tiny mouse ran into my pantry !!! (OMG I HATE THEM!!) In my pantry!! And my sister and I were up on the kitchen bench and the great mouse hunt was underway!!

But I am definitely glad I have this moment. This thought. And all with such good timing, because I really did absorb so much more of their special days, experienced it. Without stressing about photos and videos.

I'm curious, what is your opinion?
What is more important?

There is always one!

The day we went for the annual Santa photo a few weeks back, also happened to be the day that we took the cots out of Max and Lacey's room and hadn't yet put their beds together.
What better opportunity for a quick photoshoot of my 4 cherubs , in a white room with pretty good natural light?
Hmmm perhaps the task is a little harder than it sounds, right?

There always has to be one , right?!
Max, the little boy with a big personality and lots of character..... and emotion.
Bless his cotton socks!

Happenings

Well, well , well...
We had a fantastic weekend, I worked on Saturday of course, so our weekends are basically just Sundays, so we try and make the most of family time. Noel leaves home at 7am and returns about 5ish , so I bath and feed the babies and Stella and cook tea, we eat, we put to bed and that is the day over.
Sunday we went to a local school fete, and we had a great time. It proved to be a hot day in the end. Stella went on the bouncy castle, had her face painted, had  few games, got a lucky dip, saw a snake and rabbit, attempted to pat a pony (only was scared), and got some slime (the real hit, it fits right in with our 'S' week too!!)
Afterwards we headed to the Blessing of the Fleet, something I have been to ,even as a young child as my father has a business down the Fishermans Wharf, but it was getting hot. We had some lunch, bought an icecream (these super duper yummy and healthy pure fruit ones sold by the local Community School) and headed home for a nap.
The babies were so well behaved, Stella had a ball, and we had another Sunday filled with smiles and memories... bliss.

As I said, its 'S' week here at the Morrison house, lots of snake making with the slime , Stella likes to pat the snakes and calls them "Bootifol" , at least 100 times. I. Am. Not. Joking. Sometimes she gets in repetitive moods and we counted over 30 times and that was just in 5 mins, "Pat my snake Mummy, be gentle, its Booottiiiffuuull".  Priceless.....

Yesterday I took some photos of our little people, just on a whim, and I am so glad I did!! My camera permanently sits on our kitchen bench. Not the best for asthetics, but VERY good for memories and capturing special moments at the drop of a hat.

My latest project is complete, but Blogger is being a pain in the arse VERY slow tonight, so I will post it tomorrow!!
Happy hump day to all for tomorrow!

finally......

The photowall is done. This is something I have wanted to do for such a long time, yet always refrained , as we were going to sell our house and move on. Not anymore. Plans have changed (for only the 100th time!!) and we are staying, are I feel really good about our decision for once, its amazing what kids do to you.
First off I set all the frames out on the floor, with the photos and played around with the layout until I was happy. (Most of the frames are Ikea, some Target, some Red Dot)

Anyway , this is before (sorry I did forget so it was actually blank)

And this is during;

We Noel has learnt the hard way, and something like this didn't work out, so this time we used the newspaper method I had seen on Better Homes and Gardens show on TV. It worked perfectly!! We simply traced around all the frames and cut them out of newspaper. We then sticky taped them to the wall and could adjust as we saw fit, then with drilling the hole, Noel could measure where the hanger should be and drilled right through the paper.

And this is after!! I LOVE IT!!
Sorry for bad lighting, will attempt another one!
Its in the heart of our home, opposite my kitchen bench and our main living area for all to see and me to admire on a day to day, (more like 1000 times a day) basis!!

I absolutely love photos, I love everything about them. Taking them, and having them (not so much being in them bleh) and so its really important to me to have them around. As the years go on, I will interchange the photos in the frames but at least that will be an easy task!!

I'm off to work, ( and really can't be bothered tonight, I love my job, but its hard to get motivated to go at night , with sleep deprivation, and a thumping headache!)
We had a great day , with Denbi my niece here. I have some beautiful photos to share, back later!

sunshine and smiles

We enjoyed the whole day at home today, and I love it, there is simply nothing better than hanging out in your trackies, playing in the sunshine and enjoying our little people!!

Stella and I had a great play (and photo session) in the glorious sunshine today, it was gorgeous to sit in the sun and soak up the rays, I just love Spring and Summer.

She would have to be the cheekiest gorgeous little thing around..... Today she was playing with my hair and took out my lacky and bobby pins, and before she did she said "I take your clips out, they hurting you , they unconfotble" (aka Uncomfortable!) Classic!! Here , a snippet of our fun in the sun;

Today I was busy sewing (catching up on orders) when I could, playing games, swinging a swing, making Pizza's with Stella for lunch (supervising that she didn't eat all the olives before they made it to the pizza's) and having a kip with a very sunsettled little man on my chest (off to Paed tomorrow , thankfully) whilst the girls were sleeping , couldnt have asked for a better day really!
I did however start a new small project, will post pics tomorrow, just something to add to Stella's room and am gathering supplies for the next big project.

A challenge was set by one of the great blogs I follow Mama Loves Papa to write ourselves a thankful list , a list of 10 things that we are thankful everyday for. Not something we stop and do very often, and I was so keen to participate, we all need a wakeup call every now and then!
Here are my 10;

1) Noel... he is the most amazing husband and best friend anyone could ask for, and I love that we are sharing this journey of life together
2) My body (def not the way it looks!!) but that I was able to create and carry 3 amazing children ,and even 2 at once!! Something many take for granted!
3) My babies of course, 1 beautiful little girl, and 2 gorgeous little cherubs, we are very lucky!
4) My Mum (my Dad is pretty cool too) but she is not only my Mum and the best one at that, but she is one of my best friends. I would be lost without her!! xo
5) Our amazing house, I am constantly rearranging, remodelling, redoing things, to make it our home, but we are very lucky to live in such a beauiful house and area
6) Bedtime of the said children, the peace is priceless and I love the time with hubby!
7) Friends and family; we have some precious people in our lives and are so very grateful
8) My imagination; it never ceases to amaze my husband and me for that matter
9) My career; I am constantly inspired by my profession of hairdressing, and LOVE it!
10) Life.. it is a gift in itself, and it needs to appreciated in all its worth.

There you have it, have you ever made one yourself? Do it, and I'd love to see them, email me or post a link.
