2015 - Nourish

Oh dear, I had grand intentions of being organised, consistent and post regularly this year. It seems I am a little late with my first post (nearly 2 whole months) but better late than never, right?! Lets hope it improves from here on out!

I have so many posts I am in the middle of writing. A heap on the "To- Do list" and even more floating around in my head, so I hope I can come through with the goods this year.

I have been on a DIY rampage lately. Nothing is safe from paint, nothing is safe from being cut up, glued or re-purposed so expect a heap of those sort of posts.
I have been on an exercise and weight loss mission for a while now - So expect some workout shots (or at least of my funky runners hehe) and maybe a healthy recipe or 2 thrown in there.
I have also been on a 'Need it or Chuck it' journey. So much stuff, so many labels needed , so many cupboards need sorting and resorting.

But most of all, for this year of 2015, instead of setting New Years Resolutions , I am picking a word again (last years was 'Appreciate' , see post HERE).
A word to help define my days, to strive to always adapt to my everyday life. A word to believe in.
My word for 2015 is NOURISH.

Nourish can mean and relate to so many different aspects of life, and that is why I have chosen it.

I want to continue to Nourish my body with yummy, wholesome and healthy food. Food that is fuel for my body. Food that will help me fulfil my busy and demanding days. Food that will also help me shed some lumps and bumps .

I want to start to Nourish my soul this year. Focus more on myself than I ever have before.
I, like so many others out there (especially the Mums), put everyone else's needs and wants before my own.  I am determined to start looking after myself more. Have my first facial. Go and get a pedicure every now and then. Perhaps even take off for a solo coffee and mag read in a coffee shop. Small things that mean big things for your mental and emotional health. Nourishing your soul in the best way.

Nourishing my family, providing emotional and physical support to no end. Lots of cuddles, lots of kisses and lots of quality time spent with my kids and husband.

I want to read more, study a little, cook a lot and love more than anything.

I have a good feeling about 2015, do you?

Have you picked a word? Or set a New Years resolution?

The year that will be 2014 .....

Happy New Year !!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and are happy to see a new year come around once again! I have had a wonderful few weeks away, spending time with friends and family and returning to our home town but its down to business now, school starts again soon and life is gearing up yet again.

As each new year comes around , its customary to make a 'New Years Resolution', and each year I do just that.
However, it seems to be the same few things that I try and commit to or at least promise myself.
BUT .... this year I have scrapped it all.
Choosing instead, to choose a word. A word to live by and use to define moments and my reaction to them all.

It may seems strange but I am excited by the idea.
Something to remember when life is giving you lemons, a positive outlook to dreary day.
For the year that will be a full, happy and successful 2014 for us (here's hoping), I have chosen APPRECIATE.

I want to appreciate every situation, however unfortunate it may be or I may feel, purely for the life lessons learnt.
Appreciate our family and friends, for the love, support and being in our lives.
Appreciate the life we live. Our home and our belongings.
Total appreciation for our health, and hope that it continues.
And lets not forget, appreciate our beautiful children , to no end. The joy they bring us , the love they share and light they have.

And taking a new found appreciation for the small things in life.
Perhaps;
Trying to notice and cherish the birds chirping.
Feeling and liking the cool breeze on my face or the wind in my hair
Stopping and listening to the infectious laughter of our gorgeous children

The things in life, big and small, I hope to appreciate them all and make 2014 a beautiful and joyous year for our family x

So perhaps if you haven't set a New Years Resolution for 2014, you could choose a word to live by too! I'd love for you to share it with me x

A New Year

As hit the final day of this year, of the amazing 2012  , I am left to ponder. To reflect and to cherish.
Ponder all the things I would change , given a time machine. Reflect on the amazing times, lots shared with loved ones and cherish. Cherish these memories as our treasures for the rest of our lives.
Pretty special really.

This year has bought with it many challenges and personal issues for me.
Situations that I placed myself in that I regret. And although my husband has always told me to not live with regret. I find that very hard advice to  use sometimes.

Writing has always been a love of mine, ever since a was a kid. I used to love writing books and letters and often pretend to be a library teacher at home. Placing all of my own books in my room in alphabetical order, and I wasn't very old either!
I have really really enjoyed writing this blog. Its been good for the soul, and often makes me think clearer and feel better after I have debriefed.
But this blog has also proved that not all things are read as I write them. Not all things are interpreted as I meant them. I guess that is the joy and sorrow that comes with a written word.
I feel so grateful and blessed that I have 4 amazingly beautiful children. A gift that not everyone is lucky enough to receive and I count my blessings each and every day. I feel so lucky to be able to be at home with them, to be able to love and nurture them all day as a stay at home Mum, and I can not think of a more rewarding or joyful job in the world.

I have recently started to take some time out for myself. Something that I have always struggled with , but am thoroughly enjoying now. I am playing sport again, scrap booking and taking opportunities to duck to the shops 'childfree' more than I have during the last 5 years, just of late.
I am never going to be a person that can go to something during the day, guilt free, but I have accepted that. Sometimes I wish I did, or could, but I am happy with what I have been achieving without the kids. It is quite liberating!

As we head into a New Year, I want to wipe the slate clean. Free myself from any baggage and negativity as we start a new year over.
As far as New Years Resolutions go, I would love to catch up on our family scrapbooks, create some time each week/fortnight to keep up to date or finish any existing projects that I hadn't managed to with the children around.
I would love to continue to play team sports, its hard yakka to get out the door but its all made worth it with the fun that I am having .
I would love some more (we only had 2 this year) nights out with just my husband, to go to a quiet movie, grab a pizza and beer at a cafe or just go for an after dinner and peak hour coffee.
But really, above all else, I just would love a happy and positive year. A year of love and laughter. A year of friendship and family. A year of telling and showing the people I care for, just how much I appreciate them.
A year for random acts of kindness, for forgiveness and for self growth.
What more could a person want , if not to be happy and healthy. A factor of life that unfortunately , not all people are lucky enough to have x

So, as we head into the year 2013, may you cherish your loved ones, make the most of every opportunity and have a happy and safe New Year!
I am so looking forward to a year of blogging, of spreading the love through the web and sharing the journey with you.

Whatever you may be doing tonight, stay safe xo
Much love

Last in our lifetime...

Today is one of those repetition days. Only its not just any order one, its the last one we will see in our lifetime.
That in itself , is truly amazing.
I am not much of a believer in "The end of the world as we know it" sort of stuff, actually I DON'T believe it , but that is a matter of personal opinion.
What I do believe in, is that people, around the country, around the world, will be making a difference today.

Lets just say that it could be the end of the world today, which its not, but is there something you want to do before then? Is there something you would like to say to someone? Do you have wrongs you need to right? Amends you need to make ?
Do you have plans that haven't been carried out? Jobs you said you were going to get done? Things you wanted to see and places you wanted to go?
If it were the end of the world, would you want everything to be this way?
Or would you try and make things better? I know I certainly want to!

Today is a day for new beginnings, forgive and forget because in the end, its not really that worth it.
Seize the day, make a change and take a chance on something new and exciting!
THIS is the day to remember for a lifetime. The last we will see of a reoccurring date , and the perfect day to make something better of yourself and your life.
Kiss your loved ones and tell them how you feel. Stop for a few moments and take in your surroundings.
And never stop trying to better yourself.
Make today count and remember it...

Top 10 of 20 -10

So I thought I would carry on from everyone else on their blogs for my favourite things of 2010!! Most people are doing on their blogs, projects, makeovers etc, however I thought I would do moments and/or events for the past year! It has been such a big one for us , as a family and for me as an individual. As a mother, wife, business owner, boss and all round person . The year has brought with it plenty of laughs, but plenty of tears also. You don't have twins and get away scott free now....

So here are my Favs of the year 2010!!

1) Obviously would have to be the amazing birth and arrival of our dear babies, Max and Lacey. On the 29th April 2010, at 8:47am and 8:49 am , we were doubly blessed with our amazing babies.
It has been both an honour and privaledge to have had twins, and I cherish them so very very much.
2) Noel has finally found a job that he is happy at, and you all know what they say... Happy Husband, happy wife!! haha but he is happy, and so are we. Love you babe!
3) Stella mastering nappy free nights-  toilet trained from December 2009, out of sheer laziness by a very pregnant me, she was still in nappies at night, and mastered a nappy free life in Early May of 2010
4) Trip to Perth for Upmarket, my oh my, I LOVED IT!! Will definately be making it an annual adventure, such a whirlwind trip to Perth for 24 less than 48 hrs but oh so worth it!!
5) Attending all the amazing markets I have, with my Bizzy Dayz Products, meeting new people and loving creating things
6) Creating a new team and working environment at the salon, it has been a HUGE year of restructuring but so so worth it!!
7) Spending time with my dear Husband, taking an amazing journey of self discovery and strength by parenting our 3 children, when times were tough, we stuck together and go through it, I am feel so lucky to be living my life out with Noel, and for us to be entering into our 9th year together, and its only getting better!!
8) For the start of the year it would have to be the feeling of growing and caring for 2 amazing little human beings, complete with complex personalities from inside my tummy. They are no different today as they were inside and it was so amazing to feel them both kick and move at the same time (and it hurt, ALOT , of course!!)
9) Taking our very recent trip away to Horrocks. Our first family holiday as 5, and it was just what we needed. Its been over 14 months since we have taken a holiday and it was very much enjoyed!!

10) My very favouritest (made up word I know) , part of 2010, to me, has been spending time with my amazing children. Watching and helping them to grow, and learn has been such an amazing privaledge that I do not take lightly or for granted. Being  a Mother is the greatest gift on earth, and it is my my favourite thing about the past year, expanding our family from 3 to 5!!

So there you have them, corny and very predictable I know, but hey, thats my life and I am LOVING IT!!

I have made some New Years Resolutions again, and this year I am determinded to stick to them, so I believe by putting them here in writing, and before you all, that they will be set in stone and they will happen
Obviously the first one and definately the most common for everyone is losing weight. I  have struggled with my weight forever and a day , and this year was no different. However I didn't have time for myself before, let alone after the arrival of the twins. So I am setting a goal to be 20kg down by Christmas next year, I am determined to take time out for myself to exercise, play sport and shed the bubba flubba!!
Next I would like to start attending Scrapbooking classes, well not so much classes but maybe a free scrap night once a week, where I make myself go, have time out and get a few Layouts done at the same time!! I am like 3 years behind and it is grating at me!
And lastly, it would be to make a few changes around my house , things that have been on the list for forever and a day , will be happening!! Yay
What are your New Year Resolutions?
As for 2011, what does it have in store? Well I do not know, hopefully the future is bright but really aslong as we are all together, my family of 5, I am a happy little lady!!
